The position is in the Range Communications Support Section and supports the transmission of data, voice and video from remote range instrumentation sites, range timing system, and flight termination system. The position will be required to provide setup, calibration, alignments, emergency repairs, bench level repairs, and routine maintenance of the following listed systems: RF over-the-air, microwave and wireless transmission systems, UHF/VHF/HF radio systems, video transmission, knowledge of RS-170 and digital video technology, IRIG timing technology, capability to utilize component level trouble shooting technique and provide component level replacement of faulty components, in-depth knowledge and use of oscilloscope, waveform monitor, spectrum analyzer and multimeter.
Experience/Education RequiredThis position will require, a self-starter and ability to work with minimum supervision, 15 plus years of experience in the communications, precise timing, networking or timing areas, formal training in electronics technology to level of component replacement, using solder techniques when required to replace basic level components.
Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
