The Help Desk Technician assesses and troubleshoots computer support problems and applies understanding of computer software and hardware products and services to resolve problems of users.

Receives telephone calls and e-mails from users having problems using computer software and hardware or inquiring how to use specific software, programming languages, electronic mail, or operating systems. Ascertains from computer user the nature of problem, determines whether problem is caused by hardware, such as modem, printer, cables, or telephone, formulates diagnosis, and assists users through problem solving steps.#CJPOST

Required Skills

  • Experience providing technical support for microcomputer hardware, networks, account administration, and office automation software via telephone, as appropriate.

  • Demonstrated experience with Remedy/Help Desk Management Systems.

  • Minimum of (1) year of IT Problem Solving/Troubleshooting experience.

  • Minimum of (1) year of experience with remote management tools.

  • Knowledge of Blackberry Basics.

  • Certification in either Comptia A+ or Network+.

  • Demonstrated experience with Active Directory, Network Basics and VPN Basics.

  • Technical Level I certification in accordance with DoDD 8140.01 “Cyberspace Workforce Management” (or achieve within six months after TOA).

Required Experience

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • At least one (1) year of recent relevant experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience supporting help desk Tier 1 operations, preferably supporting a large-scale government customer.A SECRET SAP requires a minimum Secret clearance with SAP final SECRET clearance based upon either a National Agency Check with Law and Credit (NACLC), or an Access National Agency Check and Inquires (ANACI) or equivalent investigation, current within 5 years.

  • Secret clearance with SAP eligibility is required at time of hire.
