Information Assurance Engineer

Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements.
Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution.
Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems.
Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.

Demonstrated experience to support and maintain security processes, procedures and policies for all platforms and networks.
Demonstrated experience in developing and drafting project milestones, progress monitoring, quality control, maintenance, or training documentation related to information assurance activities.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation of RMF policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience in FISMA compliance reporting.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), ACAS scans and or SCC scans.
Demonstrated experience in leading and assisting in the implementation and maintenance of new security technologies.
Demonstrated experience in managing Automated Information Systems associated with Unclassified, Secret, and Special Access JPOs.
Demonstrated experience to develop solutions to problems relating to improvement of information assurance effectiveness, work methods, and resources requirements, utilization or control.
Demonstrated experience in the use of automated management information systems in performing fact finding, analytical, and advisory functions related to information assurance activities.
Trained in the following: RMF, JSIG, Document Detective Data Transfer Agent (DTA), and CMRS.
Management Level I certification in accordance with DoDD 8140.01 “Cyberspace Workforce Management” (or achieve within six months after TOA).
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a "Relevant Technical Discipline". Minimum Experience Required:
ALLOWABLE SUBSTITUTION: An AS or AA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience can be substituted for a BS or BS degree OR an additional eight (8) years of experience may be substituted for a BS or BA.
At least six (6) years’ experience with information systems in multiple IT resources (e.g., the Defense Security Assistance Management System (DSAMS); the Defense Integrated Financial System (DIFS); the Management Information System for International Logistics (MISIL).
Minimum of (3) years of Information Assurance Officer experience, to include development of DoD Accreditation packages.
Secret clearance required at time of hire. A Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within the past five years is required. Individual must be eligible under the SAP Nomination Process for access to SAP/SAR.
