Description/Job Summary

The Electronics Technician III operates, maintains, repairs, and installs various types of electronic equipment and devices related to all aspects of radar, to include transmitters, receivers servo systems, mixers and switches, amplifiers, and wiring. Trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned technical personnel, ensuring cross-training of employees as appropriate.

Ability to effectively communicate with operations managers and customers. To include technical level discussions, planning and coordination of assets.

Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations.

Applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals or similar documents.

Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments.

Work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Position requires shift work including weekends and holidays. Work may also require flexing of work week schedule.

Other Related Duties:

Provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Performs other related duties as required.

Education:

Associates Degree in electronics or completion of a formal electronics training program in an accredited commercial or military school.

At least six years of experience operating and maintaining digital and analog electronic equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required for this Position:

Ability to communicate tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form.

Ability to act independently, with limited supervision, in carrying out job requirements.

Ability to set up and maintain accurate records and files.

Ability to understand and execute a variety of complex and technical/administrative functions.

Ability to perform physical tasks including, but not limited to, moderate lifting and climbing.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid California driver's license.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical and Mental Demands:

Typical environment to included working outdoors, on elevated heights, remote work areas, attending meetings, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness. Ability to use a computer to input and retrieve information and data. Ability to travel as required by the Company.
